Applications for first applications or change vary according to the type of application (short-term, permanent, family or student residence permit) or the purpose of staying and the application must be made before the visa or residence permit expires.
To apply for a residence permit, you must fill out the application for the residence permit. Please make sure that the contents of the documents related to your situation are complete.
After completing the application form, the residence permit application form, application date, time and number will be produced by the system together with the required documents. Foreign legally has the right to reside in Turkey until the date of appointment by this form. However, this document does not guarantee the right of foreigners to enter and exit the country.
During the application process, your photo must be uploaded to the system.
You must apply to the Directorate of Migration Management in your appointment date and time. Otherwise, your application will not be processed. There is no cancellation or update of the application.
If you have the necessary conditions and your request is found to be suitable, your residence permit period has started, as a rule, the residence permit expires on the expiry date of the visa.

The necessary documents may vary depending on the residence permit or the reason you want to stay. The Contracting Entity can always request additional information or documents related to your request for a residence permit. You must have 60 days longer passport or passport replacement document than the requested residence permit period.
If your legal representative comes with you on the date of your appointment, this person must send you documents that prove that you are a legal representative.
You can pay the application and card fee to the payment offices, to the goods directorates or to the banks approved by the Ministry of Economy. Please pay the application and card fee separately and ask for a receipt.
– The photograph must be taken biometricly within the last 6 months using a white background. (to make the foreigner’s face easier to recognize from the front)
– If the passport is not written in Latin letters, the translation approved by the sworn translators or official authorities must also be attached to the application.
– Administration may request the certificate of birth of the foreigner during the application for residence permit.
– If the food, accommodation or health expenses are covered by the public authorities during the period of the residence permit requested, you must notify the contracting authority.
– In cases related to being under the age of 18, a person must be given consent by the parents or legal representatives of the person who are living far away and must be given the commitment by the real and legal persons and sent to the administration.
